My Story

My name is Boomer Roland. Yep, it's a real name. My parents started calling me that before I was born. It's the only name I answer to on purpose. Since 1991 I have served children, students and parents as a pastor in various churches. In 2007 we moved to Omaha, Nebraska to begin Family Ministry at Kingsway Christian Church. In 2011 I experienced a "significant medical event" also known as a heart attack. Hello bad genes and too many brats.

I like to say God saved my heart then began stirring it. God began calling me to a different kind of ministry. By 2012 I was ready to follow His lead into a new adventure. In September I trained with the National Center for Biblical Parenting to teach a parenting seminar. Since then I have been partnering with pastors to encourage and equip the parents in churches and communities. I love public speaking and helping families grow stronger.

A Valued Partner in Ministry

I was introduced to the National Center for Biblical Parenting (NCBP) many years ago. As a Children's Pastor my church hosted a parent seminar and as a dad of two children (then 4 and 1) I took home a few nuggets and put them into practice.

Now, 10 years later, I have been reconnected with NCBP in a strategic partnership to provide parents with practical resources to reach the hearts of their children. Learn more about NCBP on their website.

I love putting these resources into practice in my own home. Learning to parent my kids' hearts is hard work, but the rewards have outpaced the hassles.

I serve churches all over the United States, but focus most of my time in Nebraska and Iowa. I love speaking to MOPS groups, men's groups, small groups and large groups. Every group walks away with practical, real-life strategies and tools that can be put into action that day.

In addition to speaking, I love helping pastors and ministry volunteers launch or fine tune their strategy for equipping parents. Reaching families with relevant Biblical principles is essential for raising godly kids. Learn how I can help your ministry.
